Tehran to stage 'The Misunderstanding’ play in French language

The French theater play ‘The Misunderstanding’ (Le Malentendu) directed by Javad Molania is to be brought to the stage in Tehran.

The play to be performed in French will be on stage for a week at Tehran’s Baran Theater from July 1 to 8, 2017.

Based on a play written in 1943 by French writer Albert Camus, ‘The Misunderstanding’ follows the story of a man who returns home after a while only to find his sister and widowed mother are making a living by taking in lodgers and murdering them.

Since neither his sister nor his mother recognizes him, he becomes a lodger himself without revealing his identity.

The play will feature both Iranian and French actors.
